Here I am with my dear friend Beverly Hubbard, our recipient of our Steel Magnolia Award. She and her sister Diane are the most beautiful example of love and devotion I have ever known. Theirs is a caregiver story of the highest magnitude.
Thanks Bev and Diane for representing the kind of love, hope and faith that inspires us all!

This is the week of my birthday...a bittersweet time. I am so grateful for my health, my incredible family and friends and for all the abundance with which I have been gifted, but I am also sad.
Sad because, my mother and I share the same birthday, and since I lost her to the thief of memories called Alzheimer's disease a few years ago, I am left to celebrate alone.
For 50 years we were able to make wishes together. Now, I often wish I had her back and yet I see how powerful her life was and how strong her legacy is through our work at Leeza's Place, which she inspired.
Mothers come in all forms. Now that my mom has left this life, I can be wrapped in the nurturing love of mother figures and those with maternal energy; and luckily I am blessed with many of those types of moms!

Right at the top of my list are Judie Fenton and Donna Goldstein…mother and grandmother to my boyfriend, Steven. Judie and "Nana" have allowed me to continue to feel the guidance and protection of a mother.
This year, as I celebrate my birth - while I deeply miss my dear mother, I am grateful and blessed to have the love of "another mother" in the form of these two beautiful women.
On behalf of my Mom, Jean Gibbons, (and my Grandma, Marie Dyson) thanks for filling in for my mother and grandmother. I'm so lucky. Happy, happy birthday to me! :-)

As we get to the last few days of what has (tragically) become known as a season of "giving" things...I wanted to share some inspiration that came to me via my longtime friend Benjamin Dover who sends me quotes, notes and inspirations DAILY for years! Yep, never fails... My inbox always has some gem from Ben. And I really like this one... Thanks Ben, for keeping my heart open for all the goodness you continue to pour in.
