I'm missing everyone on the walk so much...today they are in stage 3, and I am following all the action.  I'm back in my working world and having serious wall withdrawals!  The spirit and energy of the Walk has infiltrated my soul and it won't let go.  I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by everyone on the walk.

I miss the embrace of the group which allows everyone to find their personal best and step up and show up for change.  Only Olivia could have galvanized such support.  I am following each step with the kind of love and devotion usually reserved for proud parents!  My friends here think I have now become a walk devotee and Great Wall fanatic...but in reality, I am just channeling the can-do spirit of everyone on the Walk...one step at a time, in China and beyond.  I want to help make Olivia's dream come true of having a world class cancer research and wellness center in her beautiful name.

Reporting from China, we are currently on Stage 1 of the Great Walk to Beijing, covering 53 kilometers along the Jiashan Mountain barrier, descending to the coastal plain and leading to the “Old Dragon’s Head” dipping into the sea.  I can tell you personally that days 1 and 2 really tested us; within the first few minutes of stepping out we were confronted by very, very steep steps that just didn’t seem to end!

Team leader, Olivia Newton-John found the going heavy at times but the group rallied around each other and the cause.  “I’m sure we all have people in our hearts that we’re walking for” said Olivia.  At the end of the first day Cancer survivor Rhonda Martinez shared her thoughts: “It was unbelievable – I’ve never experienced anything like it in my entire life. It was just the wall itself, the height, the structure, the scenery, everything, mind-blowing!”  There's still time to sponsor our steps, take a moment to visit www.greatwalktobeijing.com.

In the meantime, I'm sending audio reports to our studio direct from the Great Wall of China.  Check out my audio blogs below!!!!!
