A wish from Tricia LaVoice, from our Hollywood Confidential radio show airing May 17th & 18th.

For you, I wish the Sky

by: Tricia LaVoice

Beautiful boy hiding behind your coat of armor, the world has betrayed you and society robs your gender the right to grieve. Only the salts from your tears can melt your shield but protect yourself now as you must. It can not keep me from seeing your watering eyes, feeling your hurting heart. You feel vulnerable and exposed; naked in a cold world with many roads to travel holding a broken compass.  Remember, when learning to walk you fell again and again and I was there to pick you up; but then you fell again and you alone pulled yourself to safety. You cried from your bed and I came to soothe you, you cried again and you alone soothed yourself back to slumber. Beneath your metal coat you possess the strength to see you through. What you don’t know, my beautiful boy, is that while you were picking yourself up I was moving furniture from your way and as you soothed yourself back to sleep I was lying on the floor at the foot of your bed. Oceans will separate us,  mountains will divide us but I am always with you. When you wake in the morning, look to the sun and let it warm your face knowing I am looking to the same sun. In the early evening, look to the stars and wish knowing I am wishing on the same stars. And most of all, my beautiful boy, look to the sky and know my love for you. There is no beginning, no end, no start, no finish. My love is everywhere, behind you, in front of you, to the sides of you. I wish you the sky of my love, grand and infinite, always and forever.

Another wish from Tricia LaVoice, from our Hollywood Confidential radio show airing May 3 & 4.

For you, I wish you trust.

by: Tricia LaVoice

I love you, yes, you know this. However, I search my heart deep to like you in this moment. I call on myself for compassion and patience to understand you yet I am challenged by my wounded heart. In your time of turmoil you shut your doors, build window less walls and retreat to your cave. I must respect your choice but you have stayed away too long and loved ones hurt in your departure of them. Adversity spares no one and we are all deserving our healings and dealings. However , we are social creatures, webs of emotion touching one another with our joys and sorrows and must remain accountable to one another. T he line between self evolvement and responsibility is fine. We search books and worship, turn to dependencies for relief neglecting to look for clarity in the one place it may rest most. To emerge from your place of pain, to find answers to your questions, you must start from within. You do not dare look within for you fear what you will see. I understand, it is scary. I will go first. I will go first with words that guide me with self awareness; “She wears her injuries like a badge, she does not take responsibility for her own life, she is over sensitive, insecure and needy.” Now take your turn, look within. It is less painful then you think. Look, I am still standing. Our hardships are our greatest teachers but our vision our blurred if we do not look to understand the pupil…….I remain loyal to you holding up the bridge that connects you to me but I fear my arms are weakening. I will not abandon you for unconditional love will not allow. Put down your walls, emerge from your cave and trust human kindness to be waiting for you. For you, I wish trust.

A couple good quotes, sent to me by my good friend Benjamin Dover.

"Most of the shadows of this life are caused

by our standing in our own sunshine."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Why have random acts of kindness

when you can have intentional acts of good will?”

Another wish from my dear friend Tricia LaVoice, from our Hollywood Confidential radio show airing April 26 & 27.

I wish for you, your Garden

by: Tricia LaVoice

“Let her be” I heard the older child whisper to the younger. “Please.” “No, she’s resting.” I laid half awake nursing a headache as my children congregated outside my door. Time past and again, I heard their voices. “Now?” “No.” Curiosity of my child’s impatience and excitement prevailed so I called out for him to come. He ran to my bed side yelling, “Mommy, Mommy! Look, I picked you a beautiful flower!” The proud twinkles in his eyes accompanied his smile that started in his heart and traveling through his tender seven year old body before exploding onto his face. He reached out his hand opening his tightly gripped fingers and laid a freshly picked dandelion beside me.  The dandelion, labeled a weed in the book of science, is discarded from our gardens and rarely set on our tables. I picked up the bright yellow gift beside me and searched for a scent I knew was not there. I thought of you knowing that you are feeling discarded, unappreciated at this juncture of your life. My vision holds a different view. I remember your laughter like a field of daises and I see your smile in a bundle of sunflowers. I look to you and see the grace of a lily, the complexity of an orchid and the sweetness of a lilac. But my image of you holds little importance without your embrace. Take a moment and picture the world without flowers. I look to her for lessons knowing that beauty lies deeper than the eye can see. Unlike the rock, strong and independent, she is fragile and vulnerable. She allows herself to need the grace of others for her survival calling on the soil for nourishment, the rain to quench her thirst and the sun to warm her petals. In gratitude she gives back and changes the world with her fragrance and beauty. She is a treasure, a healer, as is human kindness. Let the words of those who love you be your soil and nourish your soul, let their compassion be your rain and quench your thirst for love, let their laughter be your sun and warmth your heart. Allow yourself to need and be needed. For you, I wish your garden.
